A glossary containing a plethora of important terms for Gaboza stories.
A
Ahoge
An ahoge, also known as a cowlick, is a single strand or a small cluster of hair that sticks out from the top or sides of a character's head in anime and manga. The term "ahoge" literally means "foolish hair" in Japanese, and it's often used to signify a character's playful, carefree, or clumsy personality. It's a popular visual trope in character design and can add a unique and endearing aspect to a character's appearance; it's also the Generation 3 protagonist mark.
Arc
A story arc is a narrative structure that follows a sequence of events and character developments from a beginning to an end within a larger story, and a type of story division. It encompasses the main plot points and subplots, typically including exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution. Story arcs span across multiple chapters. They help provide coherence and a sense of progression within the overall story.

D
Dream Demon
Dream demons are shadow-like figures appearing in Dreamscape. They represent negative thoughts and mindsets, and appear in a person's dream as a way of inwardly harming them. They feed off negativity, and serve to cause more of it. They work under and are created by Nightmare.
E
Emvi/Emvian
Emvi is the world where all of the Generation 2 RPG stories take place. Its name is derived from the game engine used to make the games, RPG Maker 'MV'.
The people inhabiting Emvi are known as emvians.
F
Familiar
Familiars are a power system that exist in Equinox and Second Chance. They are typically animal-like demons that form a symbiotic bond with a magic user, where they can be summoned with a spell. Though, some familiars are more malicious in nature, and unwillingly or deceptively bond with a person for a one-sided exchange.
Flash
A flash is an animation that can appear between pages of a comic. These have only appeared in In Your Imagination! (Remake).
Flipside (term)
The flipside is a feature unique to the Generation 3 and 4 universes. Generation 3's universe had a separate dimension attached to it, where the Gaboza's Killing Game series took place. Following the events of In Your Imagination! (Remake), Generation 3's flipside rebooted, and became the Generation 4 universe.
However, since the main Generation 3 universe remained intact even after the generation's end, it is still possible to access the Generation 3 universe in the Generation 4 universe, if someone managed to find a way to flip sides.
G
The Gutter
The Gutter refers to any Generation 2 story made after Dreamscape, which Gaboza usually dreads talking about or writing information for.
I
Ilex House
Ilex house is a house (gender-neutral fraternity/sorority) featured in Gaboza's Killing Game: Ivy League. It holds half of the 16 students, whose skills are a result of talent, rather than hard work. Director Ivan oversees the Ilex House.
Imagination Hub
The Imagination Hub is a central place between generations. Any deceased character, or any character who is part of a complete generation, calls the Imagination Hub home.
Iris Vocational University
Iris Vocational University, or IV or IVU for short, is the prestigious Ivy League school where Gaboza's Killing Game: Ivy League takes place. It's a huge, top-secret school, said to be above even the likes of Harvard or Yale; only the most skilled students even have knowledge of the school's existence.
It's split into two houses, Ilex and Verbena houses, which students are assigned to based on whether their skillsets are a result of talent or hard work.
IRL Characters
IRL Characters refers to characters that are based entirely on a real person, and, as such, are not entirely counted as characters for many cases (tier lists, etc.). Loosely-based characters will still be treated as regular characters with their own page, in most cases.
Characters based on Gaboza himself can be found here.
