"You don't know what you're asking for."
-Demon King, Gabriel's Quest
The Demon King (Darklord in Quest to not be bored!) is a recurring character in the Gabriel's Quest series. He serves as the main antagonist of Quest to not be bored!, Gabriel's Quest, and Gabriel's Quest 2. He is the father of Lumine from The Cool Kids.
The Demon King has two appearances: one more humanlike in nature, and one more monsterlike in nature (in Quest to not be bored!, he refers to this as his final form). Both forms share obvious similarities, such as red skin, black hair, horns, and the bottom half of his body being centaur-like in structure. Some art by Gaboza depicts him with a fully humanoid form.
The Demon King is a conniving and self-absorbed person, seemingly committing atrocities for the fun of it. Despite this immense power, he lost to four children, and then a reincarnation of that same child... for a total of three losses.
Not much is known about the Demon King before the events of the three games he appears in. In Quest to not be bored!, he's encountered out of seemingly nowhere, having killed a subordinate that was defeated by the group. It's stated that before he was killed, he laid a curse on Gabriel (Quest to not be bored!), that caused him to pass away shortly after their battle. 1,000 years after the events of Quest to not be bored!, the events of the first Gabriel's Quest game take place, where he wreaks havoc on the world again, only to shortly have a stop put to him yet again. His appearance at the end of Gabriel's Quest 2 is short and never foreshadowed, and he serves as a twist final boss of sorts. After that, he's sent to the Imagination Hub, where instead of thinking about how he's going to hurt people, he sets out to make a character of his own... and ends up creating Lumine.
The Demon King is killed during a battle in Holy War, and, following the universe reset leading to Generation 3, is voided by Gaboza (meaning he has no consciousness, and cannot mingle with other characters in the Imagination Hub).
In Quest to not be bored!, The Demon King claims he has the power to bend time and space. This would make him the most powerful Gaboza character of all time, even surpassing Carolina, but this ability seems to be one of the very few things that Gaboza has ever retconned.
In Quest to not be bored!, The Demon King displays an ability to save to and load the player's save file; an ability that isn't present in either of the Gabriel's Quest games. This ability is likely inspired by determination from Undertale.
