"I’m sure you’ll know when you got something to do."
-Jem, Flipside
Jem is a character appearing in Flipside. He originally serves as one of Ichika's bodyguards, before being promoted to one of Flipped Salas' bodyguards.
Jem is a tall, middle-aged man with a curly afro and short beard. He dons dark sunglasses and an earpiece, and is always seen in a suit, like every other male Magic Touch employee.
Not much is known about Jem's personality at the moment, as Flipside is still being written.
Jem's name was originally Jewels, meant to sound like the name Jules, after the Pulp Fiction character. His name was changed due to it sounding too similar.
Jem is based off of Samuel L. Jackson's appearance in the 1994 Quentin Tarantino film, Pulp Fiction. This is Gaboza's second time referencing Pulp Fiction in a story, the first being art of Lucille Oliver on the Chapter 3 cover for Second Chance.
Jem's last name, height, and birthday are also all in reference to the actor.
