"There once was a man... who was thin... in his imagination."
-Narrator, The Adventures of Fatman
Fatman is the main protagonist of The Adventures of Fatman, and the sixth Gaboza character ever made. Despite being a Generation 1 character, many things are known about him, due to his being based on a real person; Gaboza's father.
Fatman is a tall, comically overweight man (even before attaining his powers), with reddened skin. Before getting his powers, he had a more realistic-looking body, whereas after getting his powers, his body was changed to a simple circle, with arms and legs protruding out. In his superhero outfit (aka what Fatman is seen in for the entire original story), Fatman wears some sort of orange head covering that leaves room for his eyes. His circular body is covered by a burger suit, and his arms and legs are put in sleeve and glove/sock combinations that are the same color as the burger patty on his suit. Fatman has noticeable blackheads on his nose.
In In Your Imagination! (Remake), after having all his fat vaporized by a laser, Fatman becomes Fitman, who has all the same powers and abilities as Fatman; but just appears more muscular, and has long, flowing hair.
Fatman is a stubborn, gluttonous, dim-witted, and selfish man. He acts this way due to being a caricature of a real person.
In the opening to The Adventures of Fatman, it's revealed that while Fatman was always overweight, his situation was made worse by the series' villain, The Bloater, who is an otherwise normal-looking man, save for his face being a trollface, a popular internet icon.
As is the case with most other Generation 1 stories, the comic was lost to time (more specifically, lost by Gaboza's father, which he claims was unintentional). The story mostly contained Fatman visiting Burger Kings, flying around, and letting a woman get her purse snatched due to misinterpreting the situation. Near the end of the story, Fatman encounters The Bloater again, and the two fight somewhat anticlimactically, exchanging blows as fighting game-esque health bars appear. Fatman defeats The Bloater, but this accomplishes nothing, as Fatman remains fat.
Fatman is one of many Gaboza characters to exhibit the "stupid superhero" character trope that Gaboza loves. Other examples include Superhero Dan, Magic Touch, Dr. Buzz, and Electroman.
Fatman is the first Gaboza character based on a real person.
Fatman is canonically Dr. Yaari's brother, as the two characters are based on Gaboza's father and uncle respectively.
The Adventures of Fatman originally had a sequel planned during Generation 2, but it was scrapped due to preparations for Generation 3 already being made at the time.
Fatman is the first Gaboza story to be in a graphic novel/serialized format, rather than an episodic one.
Fatman was heavily inspired by the Captain Underpants book series by Dav Pilkey, who Gaboza still credits as a massive inspiration to this day.
