Rhiannon

Rhiannon lived in poverty throughout her childhood. In her flashback, she doesn't have a mother present; just her and her father. Later in Chapter 202, it's revealed that Rhiannon's mother died during childbirth. When her father's financial situation only gets worse, Rhiannon takes to stealing, despite her father urging her to stay inside. One day, after stealing 40 Euro from a group of kids, she's bruised and bloodied, and returned home by a police officer. Rhiannon's father urged her not to do this again, as in the event one of the kids' families pressed charges, Rhiannon's family would have what little they have taken from them.

Yet, desiring a better life, Rhiannon continued to steal anyway. A police officer confronts her father about "an accrued value of 2,600 Euro in stolen goods," and says this can't continue. Rhiannon's father agrees with the officer, and promptly kicks Rhiannon out, telling her that "at some point, [he has] to worry about [his] own well-being."

Rhiannon bangs on her father's door all night, and he opens it up, giving her false hope. He ends up telling her she's "caused enough problems," and that she's "been nothing but a bad luck charm [her] entire life." She cries, sitting out on the streets in the middle of the night, where she's found by Shem, who takes her in as his own, and gives her a new name; the one she's known as in the present, Rhiannon.
