"Wasn't Caesar stabbed 23 times?"
-Layla, Gaboza's Killing Game 2: Despair Holiday
Layla Nakia was the Ultimate Chess Pro, and the deuteragonist of Gaboza's Killing Game 2: Despair Holiday. In a similar vein to how Valentine and Monotora were a team, the same can be said about Layla and Tabbi. Her talent as the Ultimate Chess Pro allows her advanced strategic skill, the ability to read people, and the ability to plan ahead further than most people.
Layla is a short young woman, standing at 5'2". Her school attire is pretty standard, though stuff like her blazer, tie, and skirt have her signature checkerboard pattern. Additionally, she wears the knight piece as a necklace. Layla has hazel eyes.
Layla is a kind person who wants to believe in her friends. Her experience in chess gave her a better look into how various murders could have been committed, due to the need to strategize and plan ahead, as well as read your opponent in chess. However, Layla's biggest flaw was that due to the fact that she didn't want to accept the heinous things that some of her classmates had done, she tried to stay away from pointing the finger at anyone- instead leaving the latter half of the trial to her classmates to figure out.
Not much is known about Layla prior to the events of Gaboza's Killing Game 2: Despair Holiday.
The name 'Layla' means 'night' or 'dark'. In contrast, the name 'Nakia' means 'pure.' This contrast was originally there to parallel the black-and-white pattern of Monotora, as in early stages, Layla was originally planned to be the mastermind of Gaboza's Killing Game 2: Despair Holiday.
Layla is the Gaboza's Killing Game counterpart of Chiaki Nanami from the Danganronpa series.
