Diary of a Happy Kid was a book series created by Gaboza as his own, personal spin on Jeff Kinney's Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. The series contained six books in total:
Diary of a Happy Kid
Diary of a Happy Kid: The Funny Truth
Diary of a Happy Kid: Revenge of the Bullies
Diary of a Happy Kid: Secrets to be Told
Diary of a Happy Kid: Yarden Yells
Diary of a Happy Kid: Return of the Red
Though the Diary of a Happy Kid series doesn't count as a generational story (primarily due to its autobiographic nature), the journals would often have breaks between the 'story' to show off comics. The Generation 1 stories The Cuckoo Guy, Superhero Dumbbutts, and Medical School Fail were all found entirely within these books. However, due to books 1-5 being lost in a move in 2016, only one issue of The Cuckoo Guy remains, as well as the entirety of Medical School Fail. The Adventures of Fatman is notably unincluded in this list, having been made its own separate comic book.
In April 2025, Gaboza purchased a yellow composition notebook closely resembling the one originally containing the original Diary of a Happy Kid, and created Diary of a Happy Adult; meant to document some facets of his life, as the original series had, but also to contain close remasters of the lost Generation 1 comics.
